Description
The standard, everyday white baguette found in boulangeries across France. While it lacks the strict legal protections of the "Tradition," it is loved for its light, airy, and consistent texture. It features a thinner crust and a very soft, white crumb.
Presentation & How It's Eaten
Served daily at breakfast with jam, or as the standard bread for making jambon-beurre (ham and butter) sandwiches.
Ingredients
500g bread flour
325ml water
10g salt
7g instant yeast
10g sugar (to aid browning)
Step-by-Step Directions
Mix: Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer. Mix on low speed for 8 minutes.
Rise: Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 90 minutes.
