Description

Açaí na Tigela is an iconic Brazilian bowl of thick frozen açaí palm fruit pulp blended with guarana syrup or banana, topped with fresh fruit and crunchy granola.

Presentation

Serve immediately in wide chilled bowls topped with neat rows of sliced fruit, granola, and a drizzle of condensed milk.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen unsweetened açaí packs (3.5 oz / 100 g each)

  • 1 large frozen banana

  • 2 tbsp guarana syrup or honey

  • 1/4 cup apple juice or coconut water (for blending)

  • 1/2 cup granola (for topping)

  • 1 fresh banana, sliced (for topping)

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (for topping)

  • 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk or powdered milk (optional)

Directions

  • Run frozen açaí packets under warm water for 5 seconds, then break into pieces and drop into high-speed blender.

  • Add frozen banana, guarana syrup, and a small splash of apple juice to blender.

  • Blend on high using a tamper to push frozen fruit into blades until smooth, thick, and sorbet-like.

  • Divide thick frozen purple mixture into two chilled bowls.

  • Top each bowl with granola, sliced bananas, and sliced strawberries.

  • Drizzle with sweetened condensed milk or sprinkle powdered milk over top before serving.

Optional Variations

  • Protein Açaí Bowl: Blend in a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder.

  • Tropical Açaí Bowl: Top with mango slices, passion fruit seeds, and unsweetened coconut flakes.

Cooking Tips

  • Use minimal liquid when blending to ensure a thick sorbet consistency that supports toppings without sinking.

  • Serve in chilled bowls so frozen base stays thick longer in warm climates.
